French 36 pce Cutlery Set 12 persons SFAM

This lovely set of 36 vintage Silver plated French Cutlery pieces is made by SFAM and marked as such. SFAM was founded by Augustin Vermand in 1894 and is an acronym for Société Française d´Alliage des Métaux. SFAM was a famous French manufacturer of custom tableware for hotels, restaurants and ocean-going ships. This 36 piece set is in the “Sans-Gêne” model and is set in silver-plated metal marked “SFAM”, “METAL ALLIAGES BLANC”. The ‘Sans-Gêne’ model is a richly decorated model with scrolls, wreaths, ribbons and medaillions and each item in this set is decorated as such on both sides. The set consists of the following: 12 Dinner forks 22cm long, 12 Dinner spoons 22 cm long, 10 small spoons 14.5 cm long, a Ladle 32 cm long and a Serving spoon 28 cm long. The total set weighs 2744 grms. I have not polished them as yet but will do so for you before posting. Postage from France included.
