Vintage Boulenger Cutlery 12 persons 38 pieces

This lovely antique French Cutlery set is from the maker called Boulenger. This company has been founded in Paris, in 1810 by M. Boulenger-Hautin and specialized in tableware silversmith. This set consists of 12 Dinner forks 21.5cm, 12 Dinner spoons 21.5cm, 12 Dessert spoons 14.5cm, one Ladle 32cm and one vegetable Serving spoon 27cm. All are beautifully adorned on both sides of the handles and all are silver plated. In great condition but the box shows its age. The box measures 45 x 31 x h 7cm and the boxed set weighs 4280 grms in total which makes it a 10kg box for posting. What a quality set to adorn your table with. Postage from France included.

Antique cutlery sets never included knives. A cutler in earlier times only ever made knives and a flatware maker only made spoons and forks. This is the reason why in an old set of flatware, the knives were not included as they were made by a different maker. Knives – usually with bone handles and in their own box – where purchased or gifted separately to complement the so called flatware.
