Vintage Scarf Hermès 90 x 90cm

This gorgeous colourful vintage Carré Scarf is from the French house of Hermès. It was designed for Hermès by Françoise Héron and first issued in 1960. It is called ‘Passementerie’ or ‘Trimmings’. Robert Dumas, then president of Hermès, was entranced by the catalogues of traditional tassel makers and suggested that Françoise Héron create a scarf dedicated to these ornamental trimmings. The size is 90 x 90cm hence the name Carré meaning Square. Made from 100% of the finest silk, and in it’s original box, this vintage Hermès is a beauty and very collectable. Weight 320 grms.
