Vintage WWF Plate Panda dia 24.5 cm

This striking plate was designed to commemorate the Dutch WWF’s 20th anniversary, 1962 – 1982. It was made by the Regina pottery factory, ‘Kunstaardewerkfabriek Regina’, which was located in Gouda, Holland. The factory was established in Queen Wilhelmina’s coronation year 1898, hence the name Regina, Latin for queen.” Initially, the company made earthenware tobacco pipes, like almost all Gouda pottery factories before they switched to other collections. This plate shows a most beautiful coloured scene of a Panda sitting in the forest. The colours are crisp and exquisite. The plate is in mint condition and measures a dia of 24.5cm.
